4th Dutch Chronobiology Symposium
This will be an exciting day covering the breadth and depth of research in The Netherlands on circadian biology and biological rhythms.
Welcome to the 4th Dutch Chronobiology Symposium!
Join us at the Kamerlingh Onnes Gebouw in Leiden on March 27, 2026 at 9:00 AM for a day filled with exciting discussions and presentations on chronobiology. Whether you're a seasoned researcher or just curious about the field, this event is the perfect opportunity to learn, network, and exchange ideas with experts on circadian biology and biological rhythms in Society, Care, Nature and Biodiversity.
This full day symposium will be filled with a variety of presentations, covering the wide spectrum of chronobiology in nightshifts, therapies and responses in humans, animals, fish, insects, plants, etc. With this program we aim to offer a wide spectrum of all the chronobiology work that is done in the Netherlands and inspire others to advance chronobiology research and implementation of research results in society.

We are very pleased to present you with the following invited lectures:
- A keynote lecture by Prof. Russell G. Foster. Professor of Circadian Neuroscience and head of the Nuffield Laboratory of Ophthalmology and the Sleep and Circadian Neuroscience Institute. University of Oxford. UK
- A lecture by Prof. dr Chris Colwell. Professor of Psychiatry & Biobehavioral Science, UCLA and director of the UCLA Laboratory of Circadian & Sleep Medicine. University of California, USA
- A lecture by Prof. dr Johanna H. Meijer. Professor of Neurophysiology at the Leiden University Medical Centre and head of Circadian Clocks lab. Leiden, NL
- Complemented by another key note and a selection of abstract presentations
Admission to the Symposium:
To partly cover the costs of the event, we request an admission fee of 35 euros pp for all participants. However, since we value the participation of bachelor- and master-students, they will not be charged the fee.
Abstract submissions: We feel very strongly about offering ample opportunities to present your latest research. If you are interested to present your findings and progress, then please do not hesitate to submit your abstract, before January 31, 2026 to bioclock@lumc.nl, including the title, authors, affiliations, main text of max. 250 words, and your preference for an oral or poster presentation. An oral presentation is 15 (plus 5 minutes discussion). For a poster presentation: please use a portrait orientation at A0 size max. You will be informed by early February ’26 whether your abstract is selected and in what form.
Don't miss out on this chance to deepen your understanding of biological rhythms and their impact on health, well-being and biodiversity.
See you there!
