Get more insights in this new and booming medium! It took some years for smartphones to reach our pockets and most of us have one now. Probably it is Virtual Reality / Augmented Reality that will attach to us in the coming years. Understanding it will help us get more of its pro’s and avoid the con’s. VR design and development involves a lot of experimental practices. Sharing these experiments is necessary to get the most out of it. This session is a good opportunity to get to know different aspects of this new emerging technology and learn how It can change our social life and interactions with the digital world.
Ali will lead us from where VR is standing now towards where it is heading, in terms of VR hardware and contents, and potentials that are already available to us. He will introduce available VR headsets (Oculus/Vive/GearVR/PSVR/etc), tools, and their differences, briefly covering his VR projects and workflow as examples.
Together we will have a look at how VR/AR evolves in the near future. We discuss its path to reach our daily life, specially in how we interact with each other or with the computer through the layer of VR/AR in a collective virtual shared space.
ALI ESLAMI (1991, Iran) uses virtual reality tools to sheds a different light on the tragedy of casualties that we hear about on the news every day. This experience aims to make us more aware of the stories and emotions behind the data.
