In 2019 verscheen Charlie Mackesy’s boek De jongen, de mol, de vos en het paard. Het was een van de grootste literaire successen van deze eeuw tot nu toe en werd verfilmd tot een Oscarwinnende korte animatie. De liefdevolle personages en hun wijze en grappige lessen raakten duidelijk een snaar en herinnerden ons aan wat werkelijk belangrijk is in de wereld. In oktober verschijnt het vervolg: Onthoud dit altijd: De jongen, de mol, de vos, het paard en de storm.
Tijdens deze bijzondere avond in Amsterdam brengt Charlie Mackesy zijn geliefde personages tot leven en vertelt hij over de ervaringen en inzichten die zijn kijk op de wereld hebben gevormd. Terwijl hij zijn ideeën deelt, tekent hij live mee en helpt hij het publiek om uiteindelijk hetzelfde te doen. In 2019 Charlie Mackesy’s book The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse became one of the biggest literary successes of the century so far and was later made into an Oscar-winning short film. The loving characters and their wise and funny lessons clearly struck a chord, giving a much-needed reminder of what is important in the world. In October the sequel of the book will be published: Always Remember: The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, the Horse and the Storm.
During this special evening in Amsterdam, Charlie Mackesy will bring his beloved characters to life and share the experiences and insights that have shaped his view of the world. As he speaks, he will draw live on stage and will eventually guide the audience to do the same. Expect a celebration of joy and melancholy, and an ode to the courage found in the smallest kindnesses.
