Branly Lopez explores the connection between indigenous knowledge of the ancient Mayas and knowledge based on scientific paradigms. As our perception of time and space is changing, would it be possible for both fields of knowledge to compliment each other? Lopez will explore the Mayan lunar calendar; an ancient system that includes science, art, philosophy and spirituality used up until this very day to understand life, the cosmos and humanity. In an era marked by information and technology, his project delves deeper into the relationship between science, technology, wisdom andspirituality by exploring the Mayan Cholq'ij calendar. Workshop participants will get to know an ancestral system of consciousness and learn to understand how we can implement it in our daily lives. Participants will also learn about the mathematical matrix and the philosophical time-space relation inscribed in the Mayan calendar: cyclical time and eternal present.
BRANLY LÓPEZ (1975, Guatemala) sees the ancient Mayan knowledge of his country as open cosmic data. He wants to explore different ways to unlock this information.
