Keynote speakers

Justin van der Lek (Dutch VFX artist, works on several of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters) will show us which super powers VFX artist need to create awesome blockbusters.

Yu-Kai Chou (Gamification-pionier and international keynote speaker, this year on SXSW Edu and Interactive) explains the reason why so many gamification campaigns fail and introduces the implementation of Gamification design for any process.

Taira Akbar (documentary producer) produced the award winning documentary "When two worlds collide" and will be on stage for the first time to share her breathtaking journey.

Christiaan Triebert (Bellingcat) is a conflict researcher with Bellingcat, a multi-award winning collective that uses online open source information to investigate armed conflicts and corruption.

Sam van Aken is a contemporary artist who works beyond traditional modes of art making. Crossing artistic genres and disciplines his work develops new perspectives. He created the impressive Tree of 40 Fruit.

Japie Stoppelenburg wrote the book "You are a legend and everyone else sucks". A story of frustration, desperation and ultimate freedom!

Mandy Smith (Papersmith) traded her anvil and hammer for a scalpel and a cutting mat, forging a whole new era of creativity. Her studio’s techniques and paper problem solving have lead to a diverse body of work, telling memorable stories for both commercial and artistic projects of any kind.

Deborah Acosta (NY Times) is a filmmaker at the New York Times. She specializes in innovative forms of documentary production, that's often live, interactive, and participatory.

Pieter Omvlee (Sketch) will tell us all about the way Sketch started and developed itself to what it is nowadays.

Mitch Altman is a hacker and inventor, known for inventing TV-B-Gone, a keychain that turns off TVs in public places. He co-founded of a successful Silicon Valley startup and did pioneering work in Virtual Reality.

The moderator of Dutch Digital Day is Jim Stolze (TEDxAmsterdam and StartupFest Europe). In the last editions Bas Ording (former UX Apple), Joshua Davis, Delft Hyperloop and Sam Hashemi (UX NASA) were present on stage.
