We are following the measures by the official Dutch Health Organisation RIVM, who have advised not to organise events for big groups. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the event to a later date.

‘Marine Insurance, storm on the high seas’

On 2nd of April, Young Port Talent Koen Jellema, Erasmus UPT and Rotterdam Maritime Services Community will organise a new Erasmus Port Campus.

The theme is “Marine insurance: container loss in a storm on the high seas, the aftermath of the MSC Zoë case”.

During heavy weather on the night of January 1, 2019 lost approximately 342 conatiner from one the MSC Zoe, one of world’s largest vessels. Outstanding claims total of millions euros from governments, municipalities and nature managers. Experts are still in disagreement over the causes of the accident.

We’ll bring the experts together to analyse the sequence of events, as well as the legal implications.

The aim of this session is to bring students from Rotterdam maritime universities and faculties together and take part in a lively discussion.
