We have prepared an infusion of contemporary sacral pieces, written by composers form all over the world, to involve you in a journey that will give you a different insight on faith.

About “Tangram” Chamber Choir

“Tangram” Chamber Choir is a newly created vocal ensemble based in The Hague and led by Tanya Markovska in the role of conductor and artistic director.

The singers in the choir are currently students of The Royal Conservatoire with different musical backgrounds such as classical and early music vocal studies, percussions, viola, flute and art of sound.

The passion for music and more specifically - creating new sounds and emotions, while singing in harmony, is what makes “Tangram” Chamber Choir one. They are young, full of energy and ready to show the world that no matter how different they are as individuals, together they can create many beautiful shapes and sounds.

The meaning behind “Tangram”

“Tangram” is a puzzle that consists of several parts, unique on their own. Even though all of the parts are different, they complete each other perfectly in order to create plenty of forms.

In the same way, each member of the choir contributes with their own colour, energy and voice to the complete sound and the harmony. With every performance “Tangram” Chamber Choir aim to create a new and exciting experience for the audience and for themselves as performers.

Tangram’s mission is to show that being together can change the perception of reality and that everyone of us is important and deserves its own place in this world.

The conductor

Tanya Markovska was born in 2001 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Currently she is a Choral Conducting student at The Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, having maestro Jos Vermunt as her teacher.

Her choir journey began when she was 5 years old in Children’s Choir “Talasumche” with conductor Dimitar Kostantzaliev, who was also her first conducting teacher. Meanwhile she graduated from The National School of Music in Sofia with clarinet.

Right now Tanya is an active member of Youth Chamber Choir “Ohana” based in Sofia and conductor of “Tangram” Chamber Choir in The Hague.
