Over dit evenement

Pack a backpack but leave your “baggage” behind and hike the Arctic Circle Trail with us in Greenland in 10 days. Every day 10 highly trained conceptual thinkers will tackle your business challenges and turn them into innovative solutions. We won’t stop until you are satisfied! The hike starts at Russell Glacier and ends in Sisimiut. Every hiker has a backpack with a light tent, matrass, sleeping bag, cloth, food for 10 days and a stove. The weight is no more than 10 kg (22 pounds). Don’t worry, the trail is not difficult, but you have to be in good shape to join.

The aim is to get close to stunningly pristine nature that energizes your mind. In addition to that 10 genius thinkers will think along and come up with solutions to your business challenges (or personal challenge)! We hike ±12,5 miles (20 km) per day and spend 2 hours per day on solving your case (while not hiking). The thinkers are trained at a very high level in conceptual thinking which means a balance in analytic and creative thinking. The results are effective solutions that really add value to the world and make your business future proof, which we definitely need nowadays because of the huge and complicated world problems we get on our plate. By the way, when we tackle your business challenge we connect the solution to solving a world problem at the same time (extra bonus)...!

How does it work? Before traveling we have prepared your business challenge and have unraveled the essence behind your business case. During the hike we will brainstorm every day 2-3 hours and present groundbreaking solutions. Every day a thinker will bring new insights for your challenge. The thinkers are trained at a very high level of conceptual thinking, to think both analytically and out of the box.

Every company struggles with a difficult business case (once you solved it, a new one appears on your plate). 50% of the case can be solved with analytical thinking by the company itself. The other 50% of the solutions are the golden eggs you are sitting on, but can not see. Our goal is to find innovative solutions for your business case through conceptual thinking ánd to solve a world problem! Think of a football for children in developing countries without electricity. When they play soccer with the ball it rolls and charges and at the end of the day it is a lamp to do your homework with. So if you produce high standard footballs, why not solve a world problem at the same time? Management goeroe Michael Porter predicts that companies of the future can only make profit if they solve a world problem. Therefore we connect the solutions for your business challenge to solving a world problem as well. Conceptual thinking is totally different from creative thinking. With conceptual thinking your brain is in balance so you can add more value. 95% of people are left-minded (analytical thinking) and 5% are right-minded (creative thinking). If your brain is in balance you can come up with ideas of added value that really benefit the world.

So we dare you! Hike the Arctic Circle Trail with us, innovate your business and solve a world problem! No matter how complicated you present it. We guarantee effective solutions!

Why do we visit Greenland? Greenland lives on fishing, hunting, agriculture and tourism. Greenland is 85 percent covered in ice and if this sheet were to disappear completely, it would raise the ocean level by seven metres. As the ice cap loses about 286 billion tons of ice per year due to climate change, the Greenlanders want to export the water that is full of healthy minerals. The EU and the rest of the world are now competing for Greenland's rarest and most precious earth minerals, like coltan (used in mobile phones). So Greenland is at the top of world's biggest concern and on the wish list of influential countries. On the other hand overwhelmingly beautiful nature energizes your brain and gives the necessary answers you are searching for. It balances our soul and rekindles our spirit. Just what you need when you are searching for the right answers. So does walking! The three elements (stunning nature, hiking and Greenland) are a good combination to find groundbreaking innovative and sustainable solutions.

At the end of our trail we have earned a nice Ice Cap beer brewed from 2.000-year-old natural Arctic ice and we will visit Greenlandic innovative and sustainable business initiatives. On the trail is no snow and Kangerlussuaq is the best place to see the magical northern lights!

The thinkers have prepared all the business cases before the trekking. The walking pace is relaxed (±5km per hour on flat soil) and the hike itself is not difficult and easy. The rivers are very clear and provide drinking water. We have to cross a few rivers, but in July the water level is max knee high and there aren't that many mosquitoes anymore.

Temperature Greenland day time: 13-25 degrees. Night: 0-5 degrees (don’t worry, you will be warm and cozy in your sleeping bag, equipped for -18 degrees). We camp next to the available huts on the track. In case the weather conditions change, we can take shelter. We take no risks and have a communication satellite among us in case we need assistance from civilization! This year we start with a pilot of 5 thinkers and 5 participants, because of the changed travel situation. We give a 40% discount (summer 2020), so the total price including travel costs, equipment, hotels and food will be 20K.

We have only 5 spots, so the first 5 bookers will be the lucky ones!
