Throughout the spatial interventions and architectural projects that fall under the heading of ‘scale and perspective’, T.O.P. office set itself a very ambitious goal: articulating a form organising principle in architecture that is not less powerful than, for example, symmetry.
Isabelle De Smet and Steven Van den Bergh have been part of the creative staff of T.O.P. office since 1997. For more than 20 years Isabelle and Steven have been contributing to the orbanistic thinking and designs of the office, building on the urban research that was started in 1972. Currently they work on ‘Darling Springs’, a virtual laboratory model for public space. Although scaleless, they still use the self-drawing mechanism of Scale and Perspective in this model.
The GOING PUBLIC program of the Faculty of Architecture is a series of lectures, exhibitions and publications organized throughout the year highlighting certain themes and topics that are important within each of the 4+1 Engagements: Urban Cultures, Mediating Tactics, Craftsmanship, Legacy and the Brussels Way.
