The podcast. Whether you only have a quick 15 minutes to spare on the bus or train, or an hour-long drive to work, there’s a perfect podcast out there for you. Podcasts can tell real, engaging stories, creating a sense of connection between listener and content, and at the same time making you feel part of a community of like-minded listeners.

The renowned American podcast maker Leon Neyfakh is coming to the John Adams to talk about his craft. His first podcast, the award-winning series Slow Burn (click here to listen), dealt in the first season with Watergate and with the Lewinsky-affair in the second. His new podcast Fiasco (which will hopefully soon be available in Europe) looks in depth at the hotly contested 2000 election between Al Gore and George W. Bush.

Neyfakh transports listeners into the day-to-day reality of pivotal events in America’s history, bringing to life the forgotten twists and turns of the past while shedding light on the present. “Fiasco gives perspective on our current era without making explicit connections to it—and, somehow, manages to revive an excruciating political moment without making it excruciating to relive,” according to The New Yorker.

Join us for an evening where moderator Eelco Bosch van Rosenthal will talk with Neyfakh about this new form of storytelling in the digital age.
