Let children rule the streets

Through a webinar with special speakers - junior and adults and from different European countries - we will discuss the topic of mobility in the city, emphasising children's perspectives.

We want to share a diverse set of international experiences involving children in the planning and design of urban mobility. The importance of being outside actively changed the perspective of quality of life and exposed the meaning of active mobility for our health. There is no more doubt that in terms of everyday life, we measure the quality of our cities by walkability; thus, every child should also have the right and opportunity to independently walk or bike.

With this in mind, we want to present examples focused on different scales from Europe (The UK, The Netherlands, Slovenia, Ireland, Italy and Poland) and guide you through a city tour by walking, biking and mobility network experiences.

We are the Placemaking Europe Kids working group, and we focus on children's well being and their interaction with space and the city. Our aim is to use placemaking to create child-friendly cities.
