HOKU is a mindful dating experience designed for people who want to connect more genuinely — beyond apps, performance, and superficial small talk.

Through playful guided experiences, conversation, music, movement, and shared presence, we create a relaxed and intentional space to meet new people more openly and honestly.

Inspired by mindfulness, conscious relating, embodiment, and tea ceremony culture, these evenings are about slowing down, putting our phones away, and remembering what human connection can feel like when we are truly present.

Maybe you meet someone and feel a spark that grows into something deeper. Maybe you make new friends, share meaningful conversations, or simply spend an evening feeling more connected and alive. And honestly, that in itself is already something valuable.

This is not a sex party, and it’s not speed dating. The focus is on authentic connection, openness, curiosity, and creating a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere where people can simply be themselves.

The evening is approximately 3 hours long and guided throughout, with tea and light snacks served during the event. After the guided portion ends, there is space to stay, mingle, talk, dance, and continue connecting naturally.

HOKU welcomes people from many relationship orientations and relational philosophies — including ENM, polyamorous, open, curious, and relationship-anarchist people. You do not need to identify with any particular label to attend. What matters most is kindness, openness, communication, consent, and respect for others.

This is not a pickup scene or pressure-based environment. We aim to create a space where people can connect authentically, regardless of what kind of connection they may or may not be seeking.
