MS.ABA performs at Best of Monday Night Jam

MS.ABA presenteert haar nieuwe EP – live met Steez Muzic Band

Op vrijdag 25 juli betreedt MS.ABA samen met de gerenommeerde Steez Muzic Band – een van de beste livebands van Nederland – het podium tijdens Best of Monday Jam, gepresenteerd door Epitome Entertainment. Zij betreed het podium met een bijzondere live showcase van haar langverwachte nieuwe EP.

Verwacht een warme, meeslepende muzikale reis van Nederland naar Ghana – twee landen die haar artistieke identiteit diepgaand hebben gevormd. MS.ABA brengt een krachtige fusie van Ghanese highlife, West-Afrikaanse ritmes, R&B, soul en African Gospel. Ze zingt in het Engels, Twi, Pidgin English en zelfs Nederlands – zoals te horen op haar verrassende Nederlandstalige release uit 2022.

Als voorzitter van talentontwikkelplatform Epitome Entertainment weet MS.ABA als geen ander hoe uitdagend het is om jezelf als artiest te ontwikkelen. Juist daarom voelt dit optreden extra persoonlijk: een eerbetoon aan haar roots én aan de reis die zij als maker heeft afgelegd.

Hoewel MS.ABA ook presenteert, een festival leidt en andere interessante functies bekleedt, blijft muziek haar eerste liefde. Haar muzikale reis begon in haar ouderlijk huis, waar haar vader het luisteren naar iconen als Kojo Antwi, Lauryn Hill, Asa, Koo Nimo en Sonny Okosun tot een ritueel maakte. Die huiselijke warmte en liefde voor Afrikaanse muziek vormen tot op de dag van vandaag het fundament van haar werk.

Met haar nieuwe EP nodigt MS.ABA je uit in haar muzikale huiskamer, waar diversiteit, herkenning en verbinding centraal staan. Haar droom? Eenheid binnen de Afrikaanse diaspora en het delen van het huiskamergevoel met de wereld.

Although MS.ABA is also a presenter, festival director, and holds other exciting roles, music remains her first love. Her musical path began in her childhood home, where her father made listening to icons like Kojo Antwi, Lauryn Hill, Asa, Koo Nimo, and Sonny Okosun a daily ritual. That warmth and love for African music still form the foundation of her work today.
