Beschrijving

The young Dutch author Hannah van Binsbergen (born 1993) won the prestigious VSB poetry prize for her first book of poetry Kwaad Gesternte. She reads from her work, always searching for extremes and not the middle of the road. Her powerful writing incorporates deep influences from her studies in philosophy with writers from St. Francis through Baudelaire making an appearance. Felicia van den End will perform works for flute solo and flute and piano by Boulez, Varese, Bach and Sciarrino showcasing a variety of colours and the extremities of sound and space in the modern repertoire.

“Nothing about Kwaad Gesternte would lead you to believe it is a debut anthology, or perhaps it is the uninhibited approach of a poet meeting her readers without the burden of expectations. Her work represents an enormous gain for Dutch poetry.”
