Shimmy Shake Festival: workshop Theatre Lighting - Piet Rogie
A workshop to explain the intrinsic possebilities to work with light- and darkness. When do you need light, where and how much should it be and what does it ad to your work, both dramaturgically and on an esthetic level?
Piet Rogie studied both at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent as well as at the Royal Ballet School in Antwerp. In 1979 he settled in Rotterdam as a dancer, choreographer, set and lighting designer. In 1989 Piet became the artistic director of Rogie & Company (formerly Compagnie Peter Bulcaen). For his work as a choreographer Piet received the second annual choreography prize from the Association of Theatre and Concert in 1996. In 1997 followed by the prestigious Prince Bernhard Fund Theater Prize for his entire oeuvre.
