Comedian Stephen Bell’s workshop is about the boundaries of free speech. As a comedian, he is confronted with this predicament daily. Is there a limit to creative freedom? How do you empathise with conflicting opinions and cultures? And how do we deal with “Cancel Culture”?
During the current pandemic, people’s opinions seem to have polarized to an extreme degree. To what extent has this been caused by the ecosystem we call “social media”? What is more important: to convince our opponent, or come to a compromise? The workshop will lead up to a, hopefully, fruitful and peaceful discussion among the students.
