The NJA Trio was formed at the conservatory in The Hague by the two expat students José Cervera (Spain) and Alessio Calore (Italy) and Dutchman Nitin Parree. The trio was strongly influenced by jazz music from the 50s and 60s with giants such as Sonny Rollins and Cannonball Adderley. They link this to contemporary jazz (Walter Smith III, Mark Turner, Ambrose Akinmusire) resulting in a sound that is as warm as it is (modern) creative.
