De twintigste training als onderdeel van Trainings for the Not-Yet is met Beatrice Catanzaro. Het vindt plaats op 11–15 december 2019 (woensdag–zondag). Deze training richt zich op een verkenning van herinnering, gezamenlijk schrijven en visualiseren van (persoonlijke) verhalen.

‘You know, you really wake up to yourself through the other.'’ Deze woorden uit een alledaags gesprek herinneren ons eraan dat ‘waking up to yourself' gebeurt in relatie tot de ander; in een samenkomst. Dit uitgangspunt vormt de inspiratie voor deze training, waarin verschillende vormen van 'samenzijn' worden verkend: samen zijn met de ander, met gedachten, de omgeving, en dingen die zowel zichtbaar als onzichtbaar zijn.

De training onderzoekt hoe we ons deze vorm van samenzijn/samen komen kunnen voorstellen als 'untimely': niet gebonden aan de regels van lineaire tijd, van de opvolging verleden-heden-toekomst. Jeanne van Heeswijk's begrip van de 'not-yet' (iets dat nog niet is, maar dat we samen kunnen uitbeelden/vormgeven), staat hierbij centraal.

De training onderzoekt het abstracte begrip 'untimelesness' door middel van collectieve vertellingen over persoonlijke ervaringen. Het doel is een omschrijving van het concept in de vorm van een tekst, waarin het proces wordt gesymboliseerd, waarbij rekening wordt gehouden met mogelijke frictie of juist overlappingen tussen het persoonlijke en het collectieve.

Wanneer: 11-15 december 2019 (woensdag-zondag)
Dagelijks, 14–18 uur, gevolgd doordeweeks door diner om 18 uur en voorafgaand met lunch op zaterdag om 13 uur in the Basic Activist Kitchen.
Op zondag 15 december sluit de training af met een publiek event bestaande uit een gezamenlijk diner om 18-19 uur en een lezing door George Bajalia (een van de trainers van de paralelle training deze week van het collectief QANAT) om 19 - 20 uur. Dit publieke event is gratis te bezoeken voor deelnemers van de training.

Dit is een vijfdaagse training. Het is mogelijk om deel te nemen op individuele dagen, hoewel het wordt aangemoedigd om de training in zijn geheel te volgen.

The twentieth training as part of the Trainings for the Not-Yet is with Beatrice Catanzaro, co-facilitated with Kolar Aparna, and in collaboration with Mehbratu Efrem Gebreab. It takes place on 11–15 December 2019 (Wednesday–Sunday). This training focuses on dialogue, seminar, drawing, and writing to conceive new organizational forms that can disrupt, co-opt, and penetrate existing urban governance structures

“You know, you really wake up to yourself through the other.” These words from a coloquial conversation—a reminder that “waking up” to oneself means, simultaneously, waking up to forms of coming together—inspired this training exploring relatedness; relatedness with one another, as well as to thoughts, surroundings, and things visible and invisible. The training explores how this coming together can be envisioned as untimely: one that does not follow the rules of a linear notion of time passing through the present from the past and into the future, but rather manifests in colliding temporalities in which the conventional distinction between the self and the other are haunted by forms that are not-yet. If historians usually treat untimeliness as an abstract notion, this training aspires to unearth its meaning through practice: namely, through collective narration of personal biographies. The aim is to co-produce a text that symbolizes this process, with awareness of pressure points where the personal and the collective collide and interweave with one another or not.

When: 11-15 December 2019 (Wednesday-Sunday)
Daily, 14–18 hrs, followed on weekdays by dinner at 18 hrs and preceded on Saturday by lunch at 13 hrs in the Basic Activist Kitchen.
On Sunday 15 December the training week will culminate in a public event and consists of a dinner 18 - 19 hrs followed by a lecture by George Bajalia (one of the trainers of the collective QANAT who are giving the parallel training this week) 19 - 20 hr. This public event is free for training participants.

This is a five-day training. It is possible to join on individual days, although attending the training in its entirety is encouraged.
