About this event

  • Event lasts 7 hours

Imagine the Savoie, on the outskirts of the French alps. Views for days and endless climbs. On Saturday the 2nd of August this will be the stage for the 8th stage of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. With no rest days in between, this will be the 8th and penultimate day of racing this Tour.

Vive le Tour, Vive les Femmes

That the Tour de France has a rich history is something that goes without saying, but did you know that the same goes for the race of the women? Many of those stories are still untold, until recently. The fact that there was never a book written about the women’s race, was reason enough for Julia Mullié and Tim de Vries to bundle their knowledge and create the first book about the women’s tour: Vive le Tour, Vive les Femmes. Julia has published many art books under her name as an art historian and she’s an avid cyclist and Tim is Eurosport commentator and a walking women’s cycling encyclopedia.

Program

10:00 Walk in and coffee

10:15 Julia and Tim will tell a bit about their book, and we'll have a quiz where you can test your knowledge about the Tour de France Femmes, and the winner will take home a signed copy!

Ride

We ride this social ride at a pace of about 26-28 kilometres per hour, but on narrow parts and city centres we take it easy. There are a limited number of places available, so sign up quickly! If you sign up but can't make it, please let us know via an email to hello@rideout.amsterdam so we can open up your spot again.

For this ride group riding experience is required and a helmet and clipless pedals are mandatory. Please bring your own spare innertube etc., food and drinks for during the ride. Participating is at your own risk.

Route details will be shared later!
