UBC annual mini symposium

The UBC proudly announces the: Annual UBC Bioinformatics Mini Symposium

Everyone who is interested in bioinformatics and would like to hear a few great talks is welcome to attend. There is no fee at all, we only ask you to register yourself to make sure that there are enough chairs to sit on, coffee at the start and drinks afterwards.

Søren Brunak

Is a Danish physical and biological scientist working in bioinformatics. He is the director of the Center for Biological Sequence Analysis at the Department of Systems Biology of the Technical University of Denmark since 1993

Wouter de Laat

In 2008 he received an ERC Young Investigator Grant. In September 2008 de Laat moved his group to the Hubrecht Institute, where he continued his work on genome structure and function. In January 2009 he was appointed professor in Biomedical Genomics at the University Medical Center Utrecht. He received a prestigious VICI career grant in 2012.

Frank Holstege

He has been appointed full professor in a newly created, prestigous Academic Biomedical Center (ABC) chair of Genomics within the Molecular Cancer Research department at the University Medical Center Utrecht, the Netherlands

Alexandre Bonvin

He studied Chemistry at Lausanne University, Switzerland and obtained his PhD at Utrecht University in the Netherlands (1993). After two post-doc periods at Yale University (USA) and the ETHZ (CH) he joined Utrecht University in 1998 where he was appointed full professor of computational structural biology in 2009
