Unlocking the Future of FinTech and AI: Dutch Insights for Southeast Asia

This theme frames Dutch leadership in agentic AI as resonant with ASEAN’s focus on secure, interoperable, and pragmatic innovation. It also reflects growing interest in co-developing infrastructure that enables the trustworthy deployment of AI across jurisdictions and sectors.

As artificial intelligence reshapes the financial sector, the Netherlands has emerged as a European frontrunner in applying responsible and agentic AI across real-world fintech solutions, for example, explainable AI credit models piloted by Dutch banks and autonomous compliance systems that translate new EU regulations into live business rules.

At the same time, Southeast Asia, particularly Singapore, is setting benchmarks for trust-based, interoperable digital infrastructure through initiatives such as the digital identity and cross-border payments framework that anchor financial inclusion across ASEAN.

This official SFF side event connects Dutch and ASEAN leaders in fintech, AI, and digital trust to explore how these complementary strengths can drive practical collaboration: Europe’s emphasis on governance-by-design meeting Asia’s focus on innovation-through-implementation. Through keynote demos and a high-level panel, participants will see how shared principles of accountability, interoperability, and inclusion can accelerate the next wave of responsible financial technology.
