Van 't Hoff Lecture 2020
Event Information
About this Event
TU Delft Process Technology Institute (DPTI) proudly presents the Jacobus van ‘t Hoff Lecture 2020:
‘Learning from the unexpected: Surprising behaviors in particulate systems’ by Christina Hrenya (University of Colorado)
Multiphase systems containing solid particles display a host of behaviors unlike those of their single-phase counterparts. The unexpected behaviors are often at odds with current hypotheses, which ultimately leads to a greater physical understanding. Several such examples will be discussed during the van ‘t Hoff Lecture, involving flow instabilities, cohesive particles, and more.
Christine Hrenya is a Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her interests lie in the field of multiphase and solids flows, using a combination of theory, simulation, and experiments. Recent emphases of the research program include multiphase flow instabilities, cohesive particles, and gas-solid heat transfer.
Unfortunately, due to the corona crisis, we have to inform you that we have decided to change the 2020 Jacobus van 't Hoff Lecture (September 17) into an ONLINE lecture.
Therefore your registration will be changed into an online registration. The link for the lecture will follow after September 1, 2020.
