Description

Do you write computer programs or scripts as part of your research? Would you like to learn how to keep track of the changes in your code and how to collaborate effectively with your colleagues? Join this one-day hands-on workshop taught by experts from the Netherlands eScience Center.


You will learn:

  • basic concepts behind version control

  • how to set up and use the Git version control system to track project progress

  • to use the collaboration features of GitHub and building a personal homepage

  • to author content using Markdown

  • to increase the transparency and reproducibility of their research

Practical information:

  • This workshop is targeted at scientific researchers (PhD students, postdocs, professors) from all academic disciplines.

  • No programming skills are necessary but prior knowledge may be useful.

  • Practical information and materials will be made available before the workshop. Lunch and coffee are included.
