About MONO JAPAN FairMore than 70 Japanese participants have exhibited since the first MONO JAPAN Fair in 2016, taken place at the Lloyd Hotel Amsterdam. Most of these Japanese exhibitors were introduced for the first time in Europe. Numerous collaborations between Japan and the Netherlands have been born.

Join us to discover the world of Japanese craftsmanship, design and culture!  Explore exhibitions, talks, and workshops that connect makers and visitors through creativity and exchange.

For details about the fair, visit <a href="https://www.monojapan.nl/" title="https://www.monojapan.nl/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">here</a>.</li></ul> About this WorkshopJoin Hans Pillen for an inspiring workshop that introduces you to the delicate art of Wagashi — traditional Japanese confections often enjoyed with tea. Hans will give a small wagashi lecture, sharing the cultural background of Wagashi and explaining how two key elements are made:<ul><li>Nerikiri - a smooth dough made from butter bean paste, sugar, salt, rice flour, and water, which can be beautifully coloured once prepared.</li><li>Koshian - a sweet filling made from smooth red Azuki bean paste, sugar, and salt.</li></ul> After the introduction, participants will shape and decorate their own Wagashi, transforming Nerikiri and Koshian into edible works of art. At the end of the session, everyone can take home three types of handmade Wagashi:<ul><li>Cherry Blossom</li><li>Blooming Peony</li><li>Autumn Leaf </li></ul> About CC&amp;WWCC&amp;WW, led by Japanese culture enthusiast Hans Pillen, offers workshops on Chawan, Chashaku, and Wagashi. From his residence in Reeuwijk, Hans provides a calm and welcoming space for participants to experience the tranquillity and craftsmanship of Japanese tea culture.
