Every 2nd Thursday of the month we organise a WAI Circle where we connect and share knowledge. Our Circles are hosted at the Equals Clubhouse in Amsterdam. They are the heartbeat of our WAI community. It is all about ambitious women that want to grow, support, and empower each other.


This edition: AI and Supervision


Immerse yourself in the captivating realm of data protection and artificial intelligence at our exclusive event. From the pivotal role of the Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP) in overseeing the GDPR to its emerging role as a coordinating algorithm supervisor, discover the dynamics of this critical institution. Additionally, delve into what the forthcoming AI legislation entails and how supervision of this legislation will be shaped. Learn more about the accelerated implementation of bans within this legislation and the role the regulator plays in it.


About our speakers

Stefan Kulk works in the Department for the Coordination of Algorithmic Oversight (DCA) of the Dutch Data Protection Authority, where he advises on the implementation of new laws in the digital realm, such as the Data Act and the AI Act. He is also actively involved in the collaborative efforts of supervisory authorities preparing for the AI Act. Before joining the DPA, Stefan worked as an associate professor of law and technology at Utrecht University.


Sophie Davidse is advisor at the Department for the Coordination of Algorithms (DCA) of the Dutch Data Protection Authority. In that position, she works on signaling risks of AI and algorithms on fundamental rights and public values, and the implementation of news laws such as the AI Act. Sophie obtained a master’s degree in Information Law at the University of Amsterdam.
