Facilitator/Speaker Bio:

Martine is not just a city guide;she is an Amsterdam art historian and feminist on a mission to bring the hidden stories of women to light. Martine works as a museum teacher at several museums in Amsterdam where she brings a female perspective to the art collection. As she delved deeper into Amsterdam's city guides and tours, she noticed an absence of narratives centered on women’s contributions. That sparked an idea to create a city tour that offers a new perspective to see Amsterdam through the eyes of its women. It is Martine's mission to enrich the city's art and culture with a female perspective. Martine organizes the walking tours every first Friday and Sunday of the month at 11:00 am and by appointment for groups. You might have followed a teaser of her tour on International Women's Day.
