Workshop on the New materials and processes under the FPR

In this workshop NMI will present the first outcomes of the technical study to support the inclusion of new materials processes under the Fertilising Products Regulation (FPR): market perspective. This is followed by a Q&A, Feedback and Discussion session with stakeholders.

In 2022 the EC launched an EU Survey for the future elaboration of the FPR, Annex II, with new materials and processes. 182 proposals were submitted. NMI has been tasked with the assessment of the materials and processes proposed.

As a first task, the proposals were categorised into 4 types:

In the second task, as assessment was made of the market perspective on the internal EU market of the proposed materials. Only materials with a significant market perspective are eligible to be included under the FPR.

The workshop will focus on the outcomes of the first and second task, laid down in the 1st Interim report:

“Technical study on new materials and processes under the FPR First Interim report; Assessment of market perspective”.
