<h3>Workshop: Pitchcraft – One Minute, One Slide</h3> <h4>Date: 31 Oct 2024</h4><h4>Time: 14:00 to 16:30</h4> Are you the kind of founder who’s always looking for ways to make your pitch more powerful? This workshop, led by Viki Pavlic from <a href="http://mastersofscale.nl" title="http://mastersofscale.nl" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Masters of Scale</a>, will be a practical session focused on crafting persuasive content for your pitch.Join this sprint workshop, to learn how to craft clear, concise and convincing 1-minute pitches, supported by your most critical visual. Part 1: Start in the right directionBefore we start crafting, you’ll define:<ul><li>Who’s your audience? (investors, general public, competition jury?)</li><li>What’s your goal? (raise money, get warm introductions, win competitions?)</li></ul> Part 2: Craft your 30-second coreYou’ll first craft the very core of your pitch. You will:<ul><li>Clearly frame your customer</li><li>Make your audience care about the problem</li><li>Describe your solution in a few words without being technical</li><li>Make the benefits of your solution strikingly obvious</li></ul> Part 3: Add your extrasYou’ll then craft the most critical “add-ons” for your particular context. You’ll weave those into your core storyline to make your audience go “wow!” For example:<ul><li>Humbly brag about your impressive traction</li><li>Tell your personal story, unique insight, reason you care (“the why”)</li><li>Confidently declare how you’re superior or different than your competition</li><li>Pitch the strength of your team</li><li>Wrap up with “the ask” that gets your audience to act</li></ul> Part 4: Add your magical slideAn image tells a 1000 words. When done right, it’s like magic! You will:<ul><li>Pick the part of your story that can get amplified the most with a visual</li><li>Conceptualise the visual you need</li><li>Figure out how to get it – DIY or outsource</li></ul> The focus of this workshop is not:<ul><li>Perfecting your public speaking skills, managing your nerves, etc.</li><li>Building your investor pitch deck</li><li>Creating a sales pitch for your customers; while elements of the pitch we’ll be creating could be reused in a sales pitch, this is not the focus as this requires specific industry knowledge and a good understanding of one’s positioning against competitors – it’s too startup-specific for a workshop with mixed startups</li></ul> What you’ll need:<ul><li>Your laptop or tablet</li></ul> About the presenter:<a href="https://mastersofscale.nl/team/viki-pavlic" title="https://mastersofscale.nl/team/viki-pavlic" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Viki Pavlic</a> is a master at <a href="https://mastersofscale.nl/meet-our-team/" title="https://mastersofscale.nl/meet-our-team/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Masters of Scale</a>. He helps startups raise money by helping them get their “wow” across through investor-centred storytelling and visualisation. He has 10 years of experience giving pitching and pitch deck workshops for accelerators and universities, doing 1:1 consulting and building pitch decks. The latest 10 pitch decks he created from scratch with founders of various industries have been fundamental for raising $300K to $37M rounds from EU-, US- and Asian-based investors.
