March SOAL Volunteer Historic Preservation Days

Saving Our Ancestors’ Legacy(SOAL) is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to preserving and reclaiming the histories of marginalized communities. Our mission is to protect the legacies of our ancestors through archival preservation, community engagement, and collaborative research. Since June 2021, SOAL has hosted community-driven, descendant-led events to teach hands-on historic preservation skills, empowering individuals to actively participate in protecting our shared heritage. We mobilize people from all backgrounds—including historians, genealogists, programmers, and advocates—to take actionable steps in safeguarding histories at risk of erasure. With a focus on digital preservation, grassroots organizing, and creating accessible platforms, SOAL is committed to defending and celebrating our collective legacy.
