Marcela Cotovici Art

Hi, I’m Marcela Cotovici a visual artist who has been drawing and painting since I was a child. I was born in a small village in Moldova, and in my early teens, I moved to Venice, Italy, where I spent most of my life before finding a new home in Australia.

I have a degree in fine arts and a deep love for all forms of creative expression especially portrait drawing and abstract watercolor. While I’ve spent years honing my skills in realistic techniques, it’s in abstract watercolor that I feel most free. I’m drawn to the unpredictability of water and color, the way it mirrors emotion, movement, and the beauty of letting go.

Art has always been my safe space a way to process, to heal, and to express what words often can’t. Over time, I’ve had the privilege of helping others reconnect with their creativity too, and nothing brings me more joy than watching someone surprise themselves through art.

My workshops are gentle, welcoming, and all about connection not just with paint, but with ourselves and each other. You don’t need experience. Just curiosity, a bit of courage, and a willingness to play. I’d love for you to join me and create something uniquely yours.
