Any Given Session

Any Given Session is an American rock band based in Portland, Oregon with Gabe Ballard (vocals and guitar), Troy Sicotte (bassist), Jesse Woodcock (lead guitar), and the newest member, Charles Neal (drums). The group is supported and sometimes joined by creative producer, Dayn Wilberding (keys). In the late 90s, Ballard, Sicotte, and Woodcock were part of a Eugene based rock band and played shows around the Northwest. The group came back together in 2021 when Sicotte moved back from the Bay Area to Portland. A group chat between them was quickly named “Any Given Session”. It was a call to friendship and a desire to show up any weekend to create together.

The group took a few artist cover shows in 2022 and then pivoted to writing their own material in 2023. They spend weekend hours writing and rehearsing, and playing out across the Pacific Northwest.

The band’s influences come from a hybrid of rock and soul, with blistering and soulful vocals, solid groove, eccentric bass lines and mind bending guitar solos.

There have been comments in the audience noting the band sounds like “Toad the Wet Sprocket meets The Black Crowes.” Fans of Foo Fighters, Wilco, Pearl Jam, and David Gray will find solace in the sound.

The band made a conscious decision to create together, and just play. As life goes on, the pressure to be typecast, labeled as a career professional or a musician, is strong. They intend to fight that current. The band members continue to grow as performers and songwriters with a goal to expand on the music and art they love and bring great moments to the audience.

Any Given Session has a unique chemistry and a sound they know people will feel and truly appreciate.
