ISOM has about 300 members that includes new migrants from various countries and ethnic groups from Indonesia, Malaysia, Egypt, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkey, Lebanonetc. ISOM organises group prayer sessions for Muslims. ISOM also provides halal food for the Muslim community. ISOM promotes tolerance, social inclusion. It endeavors understanding of Islam to wider community by conducting community forum and engaging in various community programs. Our older members are third generation Australian and respected throughout their community. We at ISOM believe our cultural event is at the hear of what the Queensland government is trying to achieve though its grants program. This results in better understanding of our own religion and how does it relates to Western society and culture and hence resulting in safe, caring, harmonious society and increased social cohesion.
