Joy Persaud

Joy Persaud is an author, biographer, ghostwriter, journalist, and editorial coach. She remembers when Apple computers looked like chunky cubes and dial-up was the only option, but all this is a shorthand way of saying she has plenty of experience. Joy has interviewed many famous names including Bill Bailey, Ben Fogle, Suzi Quatro, Jimmy Osmond, Brian Blessed, Jenny Agutter, Alfie Boe, Midge Ure and many more, and she's also had the pleasure of speaking to hundreds, if not thousands, of so-called ordinary people – all with extraordinary stories.

As well as interviewing and writing, Joy runs workshops to teach people how to write stories and memoirs, how to interview others, and she offers 1-2-1 editorial bespoke coaching. She has an empathetic approach and, as a former extremely shy person, understands that sharing one's work, thoughts and ideas, can be daunting. Her events are always inclusive with a focus on enjoying the process.
