The Linnean Society & British Ecological Society
These two learned societies have shared missions and objectives, which allows them to work together to produce collaborative events on larger scales.
The Linnean Society works to inform, involve and inspire people of all ages about nature and its wider interactions through our collections, programmes and publications. Founded in 1788, the Society takes its name from the Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus (1707–1778).
The British Ecological Society fosters the science of ecology. With 6,000 members around the world, they bring people together across regional, national and global scales to advance ecological science. Their vision is for nature and people to thrive in a world inspired by ecology.
