Tropenbos International

Tropenbos International (TBI) is a network of autonomous organizations in Bolivia, Colombia, DR Congo, Ghana, Indonesia, Suriname, Viet Nam and the Netherlands, with partners in Ethiopia, the Philippines and Uganda.

We support local solutions for the sustainable management of forest frontier landscapes, focussing on:

• Wildfire prevention
• Community forest management
• Restoration
• Agroforestry

We apply an integrated landscape approach to create the right conditions for local solutions:

• Secure tenure rights
• Meaningful participation in decision-making
• Access to responsible business and finance

We mobilize knowledge to improve policies, ensuring they are:

• Based on evidence
• Respond to the needs of local communities
• Enabling the wider adoption of local solutions
