Alison Halford

Alison has a number of passions which she shares with other amazing, proactive people in her life. At the heart of these passions is the concept of lifelong learning and the power of education to change lives.

Alison has worked in the education sector for many years with a focus on CPD with the belief that helping one member of staff to be more effective, confident, empowered and effective will have massive ripples across the colleagues and the children that they work with. For this reason she works with schools and MATs to widen the CPD offers for staff across the school workforce. Apprenticeships4Education is one of the ways to achieve this, utilising the levy funding, which is in many institutions going to waste, to create new, targeted and bespoke training opportunities.

Alison also thinks internationally and supports ACEF, a charity which works to change the lives of children in a large slum in Nairobi. We improve education, health and opportunities by supporting Brainhouse Academy to provide a safe haven for vulnerable young children, many of whom are orphans, who seek shelter, education and security away from the deprivation and challenges of their lives in one of the world’s largest slums – Mathare North in Kenya. ACEF seeks to ensure that all those who attend Brainhouse Academy are afforded the basic rights and dignity all young people in the world should receive.
