Angelos Sofocleous

I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, working on the phenomenology of grief. I hold a PhD in Philosophy from the University of York, awarded for my thesis A Phenomenological Study of Interpersonal Relationships in Experiences of Depression. I also hold an MA in Philosophy and a BA in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of Durham.

My research interests lie in the areas of phenomenology, existentialism, philosophy of mind, and philosophy of mental health. I have held teaching posts at the University of York, the University of Leeds, and the University of Nicosia, where I have taught a wide range of courses in philosophy such as ethics, epistemology, ancient philosophy, and existentialism. I also work as a philosophy tutor through various teaching platforms, including MyTutor, Spires, and TheProfs.

Outside academia, I enjoy photography and running.
