Centre for Education & International Development
CEID is a research and teaching centre in the Institute of Education (IOE), UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society. It is the largest community of researchers, teachers, students, practitioners and activists focusing on education and international development in a single institution in the UK, with a history of over 90 years in the field. We work collaboratively to describe, analyse and strive to redress historic and contemporary injustices associated with education, across a range of local, national and transnational settings. Our focal areas include examining the role of education in conflict and peacebuilding, gender equity and empowerment, health and wellbeing, migration and (im)mobility, poverty and inequalities, colonialism and decolonisation, sustainability and climate action.
