Do you know what happens when you put a group of people in a room and people share what they really truly want? It’s like magic—people start offering tips, contacts, tools, and more to help each other achieve their goals. And they feel genuinely happy doing it. Research shows that helping others is one of the most powerful sources of happiness.
This is what this Dare to Ask evening is all about: discovering what you truly want and supporting others in achieving their wishes and goals. By the end of the evening, everyone will leave feeling energized, with new ideas, helpful tips, concrete action steps, strengthened connections, and a deep sense of contentment.
1. What do you want? & Why?
In business we often ask: What does our client want? At this evening the question will be: What do you really want? What would make your heart sing? What would help you make the difference you want to see? Is that a ‘thing’, connections, something to learn, to experience, a place to take a break, a tool, tips, help doing/building something, ...? And also ‘why’ do you want that? Paint yourself (and us) a picture of it happening – what has changed? How do you (and we) notice that? How does that make the world a better place?
2. What is a good question?
A good question is one that leads to useful answers. It doesn’t have to be short—it can be a short story. Take us along on your ‘mind movie,’ where your wish is fulfilled and your goal achieved. Try to describe the scenes, the feelings, the images. Chances are, others will build on your story, adding details and ideas of their own. 'How' questions are often great for sparking thought and conversation.
3. Give, Ask & Receive
Annet will be facilitating the evening. She’ll help anyone presenting their question to clarify it if needed and guide the group in offering tips and insights. Even if you don’t have a question yourself, you’re warmly invited to join us—share your tips and ideas (and feel happier doing so!), get inspired by the advice given to others, and connect with fellow queer entrepreneurs and professionals.
This event is also a wonderful opportunity to get to know the queer business community in Amsterdam and connect with like-minded individuals in a welcoming, inclusive space. We warmly invite you to extend the invitation to queer entrepreneurs and business owners in your network—let’s continue growing this network together!
Come Prepared to Share
When it’s your turn to speak, please have your ask ready in this format:
“I’m looking for [X] because [Y]. Does anyone know [Z]?”
Time is limited for every attendee, so be concise and prepared. Being prepared ensures you get the most out of the evening and keeps things running smoothly for everyone.
