NO FEAR is een nieuwe beeldende en intense voorstelling over het najagen van dromen. Elf jonge performers, met roots in zes verschillende landen, bouwen aan hun toekomst. In een dynamisch samenspel van tekst, dans, muziek en beeld, wordt uit het niets een nieuwe wereld gecreëerd door verschillende jonge theatermakers met een migratieachtergrond of vluchtverleden. Het verhaal van een groep jongeren die hun doorzettingsvermogen op de proef stelt en ondanks alles vasthoudt aan hun dromen. De weg ernaartoe is lang, maar de bagage die ze meenemen uit hun jeugd geeft hen kracht moeilijkheden te overwinnen. Door persoonlijke drijfveren, levensenergie en een veelzijdige speelstijl wordt het publiek meegenomen op deze indrukwekkende reis.

De voorstelling is geproduceerd door ZID Theater (Amsterdam) en is onderdeel van ExploreZ Festival 2022. NO FEAR is de eindvoorstelling van het internationale project FATE (Future Academy on Tour in Europe), ondersteund door EU/Creative Europe. ZID Theater begeleidt hierbij twee jaar lang 25 talentvolle jonge makers met een vluchtverleden.

NO FEAR speelt op zondag 15 mei als ‘double bill’ samen met de voorstelling 'Crossing Dreams' van TNT/Atalaya uit Spanje (18:00 uur). Tussen beide voorstellingen is er een inspiratiebijeenkomst ‘Een plek voor mensen met dromen’. Als je een kaartje koopt voor deze voorstelling, dan kun je ook gratis deelnemen aan de netwerkbijeenkomst!

Beide voorstellingen zijn gemaakt in het kader van het Europese project FATE (Future Academy on Tour in Europe). FATE zet zich in voor het verbeteren van de kansen van creatieve vluchtelingen en migranten binnen de culturele sector in Europa. ZID Theater (Nederland) werkt hierin samen met diverse Europese partners, zoals TNT/Atalaya Teatro (Spanje), Social Community Theatre Centre (Italië), Studio 7 (Duitsland) en DAH Teatar (Servië) en wordt gefinancierd door Creative Europe.

Over het gezelschap

De voorstelling is geregisseerd door Daan Bosch, een theatermaker die inmiddels al zeven jaar verbonden is aan ZID Theater. De performers zijn getraind en gecoacht door Sebo Bakker, artistiek coördinator van ZID. Speciaal voor deze voorstelling is ook theatermaker Enkidu Khaled - o.a. verbonden aan Kaaitheater in Brussel - gevraagd als artistiek adviseur. Karolina Spaić, directeur van ZID Theater, leidt het project inhoudelijk, zowel in Nederland als in het buitenland. ZID Theater gaat in de toekomst vergelijkbare projecten opzetten voor ‘ongekend’ talent, om de cultuursector diverser en inclusiever te maken en tegelijkertijd kansen te bieden aan nieuwkomers.

Deze voorstelling is onderdeel van het internationale project FATE (Future Academy On Tour in Europe) dat zich inzet voor het verbeteren van de kansen van nieuwkomers in de culturele sector. NO FEAR is a new visual and intense performance about chasing your dreams. Eleven young performers, with roots in six different countries, are building their future. In a dynamic interplay of text, dance, music and images, a new world is created from scratch by various young theatre makers with a migration or refugee background. This is the journey of a group youngsters who put their perseverance to the test and hold on to their dreams despite everything. The road is long, but the baggage they take with them from their childhood gives them the strength to overcome difficulties. By showing personal motivations, life energy and a versatile playing style, the audience is part of this impressive journey.

NO FEAR is the conclusive performance of the international project FATE (Future Academy on Tour in Europe), supported by EU/Creative Europe. ZID Theater supervises 25 talented young makers with a refugee history for two years.

NO FEAR plays on Sunday 15 May as a 'double bill' together with the performance 'Crossing Dreams' by TNT/Atalaya from Spain (18:00). Between the two performances there is an inspiration meeting 'A place for people with dreams'. If you buy a ticket for this performance, you can also participate for free in the network meeting!

The performance is produced by ZID Theater (Amsterdam) and is part of the ExploreZ Festival 2022. The opening night was on Wednesday 11 May 2022 at Podium Mozaïek. Together with Spanish colleagues from TNT/Atalaya, there is a double performance on 15 May in OBA Oosterdok.

About the company

The performance is directed by Daan Bosch, a theatre maker who has been associated with ZID Theater for seven years now. The performers are trained and coached by Sebo Bakker, artistic coordinator of ZID. Theatre maker Enkidu Khaled – who is affiliated with Kaaitheater in Brussels – has been asked to act as an artistic advisor especially for this performance. Karolina Spaic, Director of ZID, is responsible for the content of the project, both in the Netherlands and abroad. In the future, ZID Theater will set up similar projects for ‘unprecedented’ talent, to make the cultural sector more diverse and inclusive, whilst offering opportunities to newcomers.
