Orange Voices

Orange Voices is hosted by She Matters, with the support of Gemeente Den Haag and Leiden University.

It’s an intimate gathering that brings people together to explore safety, strength and healing through movement, conversation and community. The evening centers on expressive dance, lived experience and practical tools for empowerment. We’re hosting this event as part of UN Women’s 16 Days of Activism and the Orange the World campaign.

Our goal is simple, especially on short notice, to create a warm space where people can connect, listen, speak and feel seen.

What to expect:

• an opening intuitive dance performance by Athena Demeter, intuitive dancer and storyteller
• opening remarks from She Matters’ Founder and CEO, Christina Moreno, on the purpose of Orange Voices and the Orange the World campaign
• a short personal reflection from Athena on her journey, survival and healing
• a panel discussion featuring lived experience, youth insight and practical empowerment tools, with Athena Demeter, Greta Dalla Giacoma (Justice and Peace The Hague) and Emma Bouterse (Equals)
• an interactive exercise on power and resilience, facilitated by Emma Bouterse
• a closing movement moment led by Athena
• space to connect over food and drinks, meet the speakers and explore resources
• a complimentary goody bag with e.l.f. Cosmetics products for all guests and a chance to receive a copy of Athena’s book, Escape

Who this is for:
Anyone interested in learning about this important topic or sharing their own experiences in a supportive space. All backgrounds and experiences are welcome.
