De vijftiende training als onderdeel van Trainings for the Not-Yet is met Black Quantum Futurism. Het collectief Black Quantum Futurism is een multidisciplinaire samenwerking tussen Camae Ayewa (Rockers!; Moor Mother) en Rasheedah Phillips (The AfroFuturist Affair; Metropolarity). BQF verkent de intersecties van futurisme, creatieve media, DIY-praktijken en activisme in gemarginaliseerde communities door middel van een alternatieve manier van kijken.

Deze training met Black Quantum Futurism (BQF) ontvouwt zich in drie delen verdeeld over drie dagen:
- Bij Anthropology of Consciousness wordt gebruik gemaakt van geluidsopnames vergaard bij buurtwandelingen en afkomstig van freestyle poëzie, om herinneringen uit verleden en toekomst van een bepaalde plek op te wekken. Een deel wordt vervolgens omgevormd tot soundscapes en poëzie-zines.
- In Housing Futures and Black Space Agency verkent BQF de gevolgen van stadsvernieuwing, gentrificatie en verdringing in hun stad van oorsprong, specifiek de wijk North Philadelphia. Ze reflecteren hierbij met name op de vraag hoe kwetsbare groepen zoals migranten door deze ontwikkelingen geraakt worden. In reactie daarop werkt BQF praktische strategieën uit die tegen deze vormen van achterstelling ingezet kunnen worden, en die individuen middelen in handen geven om gentrificatieprocessen te keren met het doel om gelegenheid te scheppen voor tijdelijke autonomie en een actieve rol in de stedelijke ruimte. In deze sessie wordt overdacht wat de rol is van oral future(s) in het behoud van de verhalen (het geheugen) van gemeenschappen. Ook wordt gekeken naar de waarde van alternatieve temporaliteiten, bij het inbeelden van een toekomst van betaalbare woon- en leefomgeving.
- DIY Time Travel and Quantum Event Mapping is een interactieve lezing ter verkenning van de geschiedenis van lineaire tijdconstructen, tijdreizen en noties van de toekomst. BQF zet in deze presentatie de dominante westerse lineaire tijdsconstructen tegenover de tradities van tijd en ruimte die horen bij de Afrodiaspora en de tijdreis-praktijken van het Zwarte futurisme. In de erop volgende participatiesessie wordt verkend hoe je alledaags gereedschap en voorwerpen kunt gebruiken om in de tijd te reizen. De deelnemers verkennen de vraag hoe je quantum event maps en quantumtijdcapsules in elkaar kunt zetten.

De fifteenth training as part of Trainings for the Not-Yet is with Black Quantum Futurism. Black Quantum Futurism Collective is a multidisciplinary collaboration between Camae Ayewa (Rockers!; Moor Mother) and Rasheedah Phillips (The AfroFuturist Affair; Metropolarity) exploring the intersections of futurism, creative media, DIY-aesthetics, and activism in marginalized communities through an alternative temporal lens.

This training with Black Quantum Futurism (BQF) unfolds in three parts:

- Anthropology of Consciousness (20 November) uses field sounds gathered on neighborhood walks and freestyle poetry to awaken past and future memories of a particular location, some of which are transformed into soundscapes and poetry zines.
- In Housing Futures and Black Space Agency (21 November), BQF explores the impact of redevelopment, gentrification, and displacement in their home city, specifically the neighborhood of North Philadelphia, considering especially how these issues impact on vulnerable groups, like survivors and migrants. In response, BQF offer practical strategies for countering these deprivations and equipping individuals with tools to help reverse gentrification, with the aim of creating conditions necessary for temporal autonomy and spatial agency. This session considers the role of oral futures in preserving community memories and the importance of embracing alternative temporalities when envisioning generative futures for affordable housing.
- DIY Time Travel and Quantum Event Mapping (22 November) is an interactive lecture exploring the history of linear time constructs, time travel, and notions of the future. In this presentation, BQF contrasts dominant Western linear time constructs with Afrodiasporan traditions of space and time, and Black futurist time travel. The following participatory session explores how people can use everyday tools and objects to time travel. The participants consider how to build quantum event maps and quantum time capsules.
