National Memorial of Military Ascent
The National Memorial of Military Ascent is a non for profit organization located just off the National Scenic Byway at the Grafton Visitor Center in Grafton, IL. The mission of the NMMA is to Honor our Veterans, Educate our youth, and Never forget. We have completed phase one as the memorial is now open. The memorial is a one-of-a-kind monument that emulates Pointe du hoc on D-day, 6 June 1944. Twelve life-sized bronze sculptures have been installed and represent the US Army Rangers who fought to protect our freedoms during WWII. The complex will include a founding member limestone memorial wall with names of veterans and families names engraved. A Founding Membership can be purchased through our website with a one time $1,000.00 donation. Phase two is underway and will include a military museum dedicated to all veterans with a focus on Vietnam. The museum will contain an experience theater, a gift shop, and displays representing battles throughout US history. Veterans from every generation deserve lasting recognition, which this memorial will provide for decades to come.
