The Ripped Bodice is the first romance-only bookstore in the United States. Founded by sisters Bea and Leah Koch in 2016, we are an independent, woman-owned and queer-owned bookstore dedicated to celebrating romance in all its forms.

With locations in Los Angeles and Brooklyn, we host hundreds of author events each year, from intimate conversations and signings to large-scale ticketed experiences featuring bestselling and debut authors alike. Our mission is to champion the romance genre, foster community, and create welcoming spaces for readers to connect with books they love.
